From an early age, I wanted to help improve processes and how people collaborate. I strongly believe that often the key to a project’s success is in shining a little light - so we can understand each other better, learn from each other better, and keep our eye on the ball better.

2023 - 2024, Graduate School of the Faculty of Spatial Sciences, University of Groningen
I was called upon to help manage this graduate school in the moment that all the support staff left abruptly. I:
Offered logistical support, improved workflows
Facilitated mental health support, training, networking
Ensured that PhD research is performed efficiently, satisfactorily, and on time.

2021 - 2022, Horizon2020 “Pronkjewail Project”, University Medical Centrum Groningen, University of Groningen
Project manager within a 3.35 million EURO consortium (16 ESRs) focused on antimicrobial resistance.
Ensured deliverables are achieved on time and maintained high standards of research, communication, dissemination.

In February 2022, I organised and oversaw the medical response for Ukrainian refugees in Iasi, Romania, at the beginning of the war. Drawing on local and international medical and migration networks, I established a refugee medical centre and used available mobile apps for efficient coordination and continuity of care for approximately 10,000 refugees. I detailed this work as an invited speaker to the largest conference in my field.
I was very lucky to be surrounded by extremely capable and caring volunteers.

2014 - 2016, “Trup si Suflet” (“Body and Soul”) NGO
This NGO implements European projects focused on vulnerable women’s wellbeing and employment integration. I coordinated the dissemination strategy, helped manage budgets, and facilitated timely and efficient work package delivery for two large projects, one involving women escaping from spousal abuse, and one involving victims of sex trafficking.

I began working as a teenager in the family business of organising medical events. Initially, I was in charge of translating, SEO, and designing conference materials. In time, I became in charge of the whole event process. The company closed in 2010. Since then, I have organised selected events on a project basis and I use this expertise in my other positions.

2018-Present, International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease
As an expert in vulnerable populations, I was invited to join the board of a large international working group of TB experts and stakeholders, which I now co-chair. In this position, I facilitate knowledge transfer, networking, and worldwide collaborations.

Facilitated mental health support, training, networking, policy changes for the 1700+ medical PhDs in the University Medical Centrum Groningen.

2017 - 2018, Groningen Organisation for PhD Education and Recreation, University of Groningen
I organised different events geared towards PhD training for the 4500+ PhDs in the University of Groningen. Highlights include:

a weekend retreat organised with the Career Perspectives group
a workshop on critical thinking in academia
co-founding the University of Groningen platform for scientific communication, Mind Mint

Organised various events, workshops, training opportunities for medical students. Co-creator of the largest student club in Romania, the Bioethics Debate Club. Co-founding member of the Romanian Bioethics Society.
